Just think, fifty years ago sixteen foreward thinking people in Michigan on the Au Sable River had a vision of preserving America's waters and fisheries.

Today, Trout Unlimited is over 140,000 strong with 450 chapters across the country donating 500,000 volunteer hours each year with goals to protect and preserve cold, clean, fishable waters.

Well done Trout Unlimited.  The Upper Bear River Trout Unlimited Chapter is proud to be a part of one of America's leading conservation organizations

 In the fall of 2007, a group of dedicated individuals in southwest Wyoming gathered together with one goal in mind.

"Bring Back The Bear"

After a 10-year period of inactivity, a group of diverse, conservation-minded individuals came together to reorganize and revitalize the local Trout Unlimited chapter.

With strong leadership, commitment and vision, the Upper Bear River Trout Unlimited Chapter was formed and our ranks and accomplishments since that first organizational meeting have been impressive.

Our diverse group of dedicated members — men, women and children — come from all walks of life in the southwest Wyoming region.

While we've set ambitious goals, we also recognize the value of enjoying the great outdoors and outstanding fishing opportunities that our region offers fly fishing enthusiasts and anglers. And we also recognize the value of protecting and enhancing those precious resources in our area.

As stewards of the Upper Bear River Valley, we have chosen to take on the task of "bringing back the Bear."
